Dr. Ehrens received his B.A. in Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1966 and his D.M.D. from Fairleigh Dickinson University School of Dentistry in 1970. He served his general practice dental residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and then his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at New York Hospital, Cornell Medical Center.
Dr. Ehrens began his private practice in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Allentown in 1974. He is a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the Pennsylvania Society of OMS. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Pennsylvania Dental Association, and the Lehigh Valley Dental Society.
Dr. Ehrens has served as the chairman of the selection committee responsible for selecting new residents for the general practice dental residency program at Lehigh Valley Hospital. He has been the recipient of the Teacher of the Year Award from the general practice dental residency program at Lehigh Valley Hospital on several occasions.
