What Is Teeth in a Day?
Teeth in a Day is a treatment that can replace all of a patient’s teeth with a pair of full arches. That means all of the teeth on both the top and bottom of the mouth are replaced, similar to a set of full dentures. Unlike dentures, though, teeth in a day utilizes dental implant technology. Dental implants are tiny “rods” made of titanium that are implanted in the living bone of your jaw, acting as replacement tooth roots. Because implants actually replace the root, rather than just sitting atop your gums like dentures, you experience full feedback when talking, biting, and chewing, just like with your natural teeth. Over the implant goes a crown that we sculpt and polish to flawlessly match the rest of your teeth so that no one can ever tell you have replacement teeth.
Are You a Good Candidate for Teeth in a Day?
The Teeth in a Day treatment is ideal for any patient that is either missing all of their top and bottom teeth, or their teeth are in a state of severe and advanced disease or damage. Saving and preserving natural teeth is always our first priority, but if we determine that extraction is the best option then Teeth in a Day are a great way to immediately restore functionality of your smile. If you already have dentures or a dental bridge and are dissatisfied with the clunky feeling, discomfort, and constant need for cleaning and upkeep, then Teeth in a Day can be a powerful alternative.
What to Expect When Getting Teeth in a Day
When you come into our office, we will give you a full exam and do scans, using ultra-precise 3D images to craft a treatment plan. If we determine that you need a bone graft to support your implants, we will have to do that first before we can place the implants. Once you are ready to receive the implants, we will first extract any remaining teeth before placing the implants. You will get temporary crowns so that you can leave our office that same day with teeth that look and work just like new. Once your permanent crowns are done being fabricated, you can return to our office to have them placed.
Caring for Your New Teeth
Every patient’s postoperative needs will be different, so one of our excellent dental pros will give you instructions specific to your unique situation. In general, though, you will need to be mindful of your new implants as they heal, a process which can take several months. It is a good idea to switch to a diet of softer foods while your implants fuse with your jawbone.
